Nearing retirement, we determined the need for a ranch style home and extensively searched for one that met our present and future needs. Finding none, we decided to design our own to replace our existing home of 35 years and developed our dream house plans. After interviewing and checking references for several builders, we selected Norway and have since realized that was one of the best decisions we made.

Working closely with Bob, we made several changes to the initial plans that saved costs and added functionality. Additionally, many changes were made during construction from excavation to final occupancy that improved our vision of what we wanted. Bob worked side by side with us to custom design many details to include the door and window trims, breakfast bar facade, fireplace and mantel, bathrooms, front foyer and skylights (to name a few) as construction progressed, always ensuring the use of quality materials and workmanship.

Best of all, there were no delays in the overall schedule, while maintaining costs within our budget, as a result of Maryanne’s efforts. In fact, work was completely in 7 months, a full month earlier than our original projections.

Norway far exceeded our expectations in making our dream house a reality to enjoy for many years to come as we develop it into our new home with new traditions and memories.

Dear Folks,
I heartily recommend Norway builders for any building improvements. Around eight years ago Norway was responsible for a beautiful renovation at St. Joseph's in Downers Grove. This included restoration of old stained glass windows, the walling off of a chapel and the installation of large wall of glass. Also included was a general painting of the whole interior. The second job they did for us was a great new kitchen in the rectory. All the cabinets were custom built and look great. Finally they undertook the restoration of Fitzgerald Hall a few years ago. This required all new walls, floor, carpet and lighting. The final result is very attractive.

We found ourselves in the very scary position of remodeling a home from 2,000 miles away. All I can say is that every day we were grateful we had chosen Norway. Bob and Maryanne were wonderfully communicative and a joy to work with. Bob was unfailingly honest and responsible, and his crew kept our home safe and clean during the construction. In addition, they maintained good relationships with our neighbors-to-be. Frankly, that alone would have been enough to be grateful for. But there's more. Both he and Maryanne were always positive and patient. They genuinely cared about our project. We've worked with many contractors, most of whom sour when you present an idea that differs from theirs. Bob was a breath of fresh air. He not only welcomed new ideas, he got excited about them and helped us consider all our options, and any obstacles we might encounter. There was never a moment during the remodel that we didn't feel we could trust Bob completely. He worked hard to help us economize whenever we could, and he earned our utmost respect for his truthfulness and integrity. To this day, a year and a half later, if Bob installed it and something goes wrong with it, he takes care of it. We can't imagine ever working with a better contractor. He did an outstanding job transforming our home and we would hire him again in a heartbeat. In fact, we'll never hire anyone else.

RML Norway, Inc. should be the first and only contractor you contact for your construction project. We highly recommend using this company. Bob and Maryanne are wonderful to work with. They really listen to everything you want to accomplish with your project. They will make recommendations to help you meet your goals, and even suggest ways to lower the cost. The company runs so smoothly you will be amazed at the daily progress. At the end of the day, they make sure everything is cleaned up. Our project was completed on time and within budget.

Our only regret was that we didn’t contact them before we even went to an architect. Bob assisted us in getting our plans to fit our budget. Bob’s suggestions for the redesign were great. We got the space we wanted and it is beautiful.

All of the subcontractors working on our project were great. The subcontractors truly respect and enjoy working for Bob. A couple even stated that RML Norway, Inc. is the only company they will work for. One said that they have enough business on their own, but is always happy to work with Bob. That alone says a lot about Bob and Maryanne and how RML Norway operates.

RML Norway, Inc. was a pleasure to work with. We will miss having them around. And, yes, we would hire them again.
